Our client, Fairwinds International Bank, is looking for a Compliance Analyst

Department: Compliance

Reports to: Compliance Manager / Chief Compliance Officer

FLSA Status: Exempt

Summary:

The Compliance Analyst is responsible to assist in the execution of the Banks Compliance Policies and Procedures. Keeps abreast of regulatory and legal developments governing bank operations, products and services; and manages the daily operations of the Compliance Department.

Description of Essential Duties

  • Analyze day-to-day transfers and prepare them for execution
  • Investigate potentially suspicious activity in Wire Transfers
  • Investigate potentially suspicious activity referred from the different business units
  • Review alerts generated through Compliance Monitoring (flags)
  • Review customer files in order to corroborate if assigned risk will remain the same or need to be updated through the performance of Enhanced Due Diligence Reviews
  • Responsible for the opening of new customer accounts
  • Develops and delivers presentation of Compliance and Risk information to management and/or the Board of Directors
  • Provides subject matter expertise for regulatory requirements for assigned line of businesses
  • Communicate and document technical Compliance Advice and guidance to fellow team members
  • Coordinate materials for Compliance audits
  • Participate in projects to implement new or revised regulations
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree (B.A.) from an accredited college or university
  • 1 to 5 years of experience or training in banking, or an equivalent combination of education and experience 
  • Detailed oriented
  • Strong client relationship skills
  • Self-motivated, independent and resourcefulness, energetic, and the ability to multi-task in a fast- paced environment
  • Proficient with computers and Microsoft software programs (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in English

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly require sitting; standing; walking; using hands to finger, handle or feeling; reaching with hands and arms; and talk or hear. This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require to ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bending or standing on a stool as necessary. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
