Our Client is seeking an experienced and driven procurement professional, a well-established industry leader and Owner of a group of companies with locations in Puerto Rico, Florida, and the Dominican Republic.
This is a newly created role designed to strengthen our current Purchasing Department, which is composed of highly skilled Buyers with proven food and beverage industry proficiency. Depending on the qualifications and experience of the ideal candidate, this position may be defined as a Senior Buyer, Purchasing Supervisor, or Purchasing Manager.

Role Responsibilities:
- Key Lead within a team of Buyers, to oversee vendor contract negotiations and supervise purchasing activities either directly or indirectly, to optimize performance and enhance
collaboration. - Responsible for generating purchases, demand planning,
forecasting, and production planning. - Supports multiple accounts across various divisions, including pharmaceutical ingredients, food and consumer products.
- Works hand-in-hand with the Sales team.
- Supports the company's strategy for new product
introductions. - Oversees the purchasing process to ensure cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery of goods and services.
- Develops and manages supplier relationships, including negotiating contracts and ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
- Implements best practices in procurement strategies,
systems, and procedures. - Provides clear, consistent communication and alignment with cross-functional teams.
- Monitors market trends and identifies opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a procurement/purchasing role; ideally leading and supporting a team of Buyer / Planners.
- Must be proficient in Excel and familiar with systems such as ORACLE (ideally), JD Edwards, SAP, or Thrive.
- Previous experience negotiating with suppliers and managing contract agreements (this is required)
- Ability to improve procurement processes and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Excellent organizational skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a
collaborative leadership style. - Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
