Our client, SARCO, is looking for an Accountant.

Job Description:

Responsible for the measurement and interpretation of financial information. Knowledgeable of all accounting cycle functions. Ensure that report results comply with generally accepted accounting principles and the companys standards. This role is responsible to support all business efforts and interdependencies while providing accounting and reports.

Key responsibilities:

  • Primarily responsible for revenue reconciliation, posting and analysis on a daily and monthly basis.
  • Helping the company to scale up and grow consistently year after year by playing a dynamic role in the financial forecast and budgeting process for the organization.
  • Reviewing and recommending modifications to accounting systems and procedures in use.
  • Analyzing and forecasting financial statements, reports and records.
  • Participating in and providing input in ERP and other system upgrades or conversions.
  • Spotting errors and suggesting ways to improve efficiency and results for the organization.
  • Responsible for maintaining general ledgers and month-end/year end close out processes.
  • Handling fixed asset processing and reporting.
  • Coordinating more complex accounting projects and initiatives with other members of the accounting and finance team or with other departments providing insight and proposals for improvements and KPIs.
  • Providing input into various departments goal setting procedures.
  • Reviewing journal entries of external sources.
  • Handling general accounting functions including accruals, prepaid and amortization, recording of journal entries, account reconciliations preparation and fixed assets.
  • Completing financial and profitability analysis on a requested basis.
  • Assisting with financial and tax audits to include tax filings as well as sales tax and use taxes.
  • Acts as liaison between AP, Payroll, and Directors, serving to enforce and monitor compliance with company-wide accounting principles, policies and procedures.
  • Reporting all issues and challenges to the CFO directly as necessary.

Requirements / Job Profile:

Education:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA, MBA or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred.

Experience:

  • At least 5 years of previous experience in a similar position.

Qualifications and General Skills:

  • Ability to evaluate accounting and reporting processes and drive change where necessary to improve effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong computer skills, working knowledge of financial systems such as Oracle Fusion, SAP.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in the use of Windows and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).

Communication Skills:

  • Bilingual (English & Spanish), both orally and written, preferred.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, both verbally and in writing.
