Our client, Threshold, is looking for a Senior Software Engineer (Microsoft Dynamics)

General Description:

What if work were about building solutions for good?

At threshold.world, we build solutions for good that empower nonprofits, foundations, and social impact teams to accelerate some of the most important work on the planet. We don't just implement technology. We co-create solutions with the people who amplify justice, expand access, and strengthen the front lines of change.

We are not hiring employees. We are gathering thresholders, people who bring both technical rigor and a deeply human way of showing up.

Why this role matters

Nonprofits are tackling humanity's most pressing challenges. As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll help scale their impact with solutions that help them operate more effectively and stay focused on what matters most.

Our senior engineers are part visionary, part crafter, and part steward of trust. You'll turn complexity into clarity. You'll work with mission-driven organizations to build systems that address real organizational needs, ease human pain points, and earn trust.

This role is for someone who:

  • Listens deeply, asks thoughtful questions, and stays curious
  • Builds trust through care, sincerity, competence, and reliability
  • Contributes to a positive team culture and brings joy to the work
  • Enjoys tech, but loves what tech makes possible even more

What you will do

  • Lead technical design and development of scalable cloud-based software solutions that align with goals and constraints related to system performance, security, and maintainability.
  • Lead technical design and solution development sessions, ensuring a clear understanding of client needs and the translation of those needs into overall architecture design and technical requirements for the development team.
  • Provide technical leadership across projects, mentor and support developers by providing technical guidance, sharing best practices, and helping build their skills and confidence in solution development.
  • Engage directly with customers and partners to gather, evaluate, and prioritize user feedback.
  • Apply nonprofit sector knowledge to ensure solutions are aligned with the customer's mission.
  • Identify and communicate edge cases or technical constraints that could impact how requirements are shaped or prioritized.
  • Lead and conduct code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers, and enforce best practices that improve code quality, performance, and team productivity.
  • Design and develop backend systems, including application logic, APIs, and data services.
  • Build responsive, accessible, and user-friendly front-end interfaces.
  • Implement AI tools to develop more intuitive solutions that drive client efficiency and insight.
  • Design and implement DevOps pipelines.
  • Write and maintain unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and reliability.
  • Break down requirements into tasks and track work progress, issues, and milestones in project management software.
  • Ensure timely, high-quality delivery of solutions.
  • Create technical documentation to support client understanding, adoption, and system sustainability.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies, frameworks, and best practices, and implement ideas to continuously improve solution quality and performance.
  • Lead internal initiatives to improve engineering standards, development processes, and solution delivery frameworks.
  • Support business development through scoping engagements, developing proposals, and participating in client presentations.
