Position Overview
We are seeking an Electrical Engineering Manager to lead our electrical and embedded systems team in the design and launch of innovative products. This role blends hands-on technical leadership with strategic management, ensuring high-quality, compliant, and cost-effective solutions from concept through commercialization.
The ideal candidate has deep expertise in PCB design, embedded firmware, and electro-mechanical systems, combined with proven success in new product development (NPI) and team leadership within regulated industries (medical device experience a strong plus).
Key Responsibilities
Lead and mentor a cross-functional engineering team; drive technical excellence, professional growth, and accountability.Oversee electrical design and development of products, including:PCB design/layout and hardware integrationEmbedded firmware and IoT systemsDC motor systems, sensors, and power systems (LiFePO4 batteries, wireless comms, displays)Own the NPI lifecycle from concept through validation, prototype builds, and product launch.Ensure compliance with IEC, UL, CSA, CE, EN, and (preferred) FDA 21 CFR 820 / ISO 13485 requirements.Partner with product management, manufacturing, and quality teams to align engineering outputs with business objectives.Provide root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and technical support for sustaining engineering and global product issues.Direct vendor and contract manufacturer collaboration (Altium, SolidWorks-based design handoff).Champion process improvements, cost reductions, and speed-to-market initiatives without compromising quality.Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering (Masters preferred).10+ years of engineering experience, with at least 5 years in leadership/management roles.Proven record of launching multiple electrical/electromechanical products to market.Strong technical expertise in PCB design, firmware development, and embedded systems.Experience with regulatory compliance (IEC, UL, CSA, CE, EN); medical device regulatory background (ISO 13485/FDA 21 CFR 820) highly desirable.Proficiency with Altium, SolidWorks, and related engineering tools.Demonstrated leadership in hiring, coaching, and developing engineering teams.Strong project management skills with ability to deliver complex projects on-time and within budget.Preferred Experience
Medical device, life sciences, or other regulated industry product launches.Knowledge of EMC shielding, connectors, sensors, and enclosure design.Systems integration background spanning electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.Familiarity with product design transfer and manufacturing scale-up.Job Type: Full-time
