Role Purpose
The Sales Manager Ports will be responsible for establishing and growing Amzones business with port authorities, terminal operators, shipyards, logistics hubs, and marine contractors. The role involves positioning Amzones product lines including lifting equipment, marine rigging, crane spares, and fabricated components as essential tools to enhance operational uptime, safety, and efficiency in port environments. Key Responsibilities1. Sector-Focused Business Development
- Develop and execute a go-to-market plan targeting port authorities, shipping companies, container terminal operators, dry docks, and marine contractors.
- Build a qualified client pipeline by identifying active ports and upcoming maritime infrastructure developments in UAE, KSA, Oman, and East Africa.
- Respond to tenders, inquiries, and service requests with tailored proposals and relevant product solutions.
2. Product & Solution Selling
- Promote a comprehensive portfolio relevant to port operations, including:
- Wire ropes and lifting gear
- Spreader bars, shackles, slings, and chain assemblies
- Dockside crane spares and maintenance tools
- Load testing services and certifications
- Marine valves, hoses, and fittings
- Custom-fabricated mechanical components
- Provide product recommendations based on site requirements, safety standards, and lifecycle value.
3. Stakeholder Engagement & Client Management
- Build long-term relationships with procurement heads, maintenance managers, port engineers, and marine operations teams.
- Conduct port visits, vessel-side inspections, and on-site solution demonstrations.
- Ensure continuity of supply, timely resolution of issues, and responsive customer support.
4. Sales Execution & Commercial Closure
- Manage end-to-end sales activities: lead generation, technical clarification, pricing, negotiation, and order finalization.
- Collaborate with internal logistics and warehouse teams to ensure on-time deliveries and readiness of service equipment.
- Monitor accounts receivable and ensure payment timelines are met in coordination with the finance department.
5. Market Intelligence & Competitor Monitoring
- Track developments in port infrastructure, maritime trade, and regulatory standards impacting procurement and operational needs.
- Stay ahead of competitor offerings, new technologies, and pricing trends to advise product mix adjustments and promotional efforts.
6. Cross-Functional Coordination
- Coordinate with engineering, QA/QC, fabrication, and technical teams for product customization, inspections, and documentation.
- Work closely with the marketing team to create sector-focused materials such as case studies, datasheets, and technical brochures.
7. Reporting & KPI Management
- Maintain accurate client interaction records, opportunities, and order status in CRM tools.
- Submit weekly and monthly performance reports highlighting order closures, pipeline status, lead progress, and conversion ratios.
- Track and achieve sales targets defined for revenue, new accounts, and repeat orders.
Candidate Profile Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Marine, or Industrial Engineering.
- Technical certification in rigging/lifting or marine equipment is a plus.
Experience:
- 812 years of B2B sales experience in industrial or marine products, with a strong track record in port and maritime sectors.
- Previous sales exposure to Jebel Ali Port, Khalifa Port, Hamriyah Free Zone, or GCC port operators is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of lifting equipment standards, marine safety regulations, and industrial supply chain processes.
Skills:
- Strong client handling and negotiation skills.
- Technical understanding of port equipment and operations.
- Ability to prepare technical-commercial proposals and handle tender processes.
- Familiarity with port procurement portals and vendor registration systems.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Valid UAE driving license is mandatory.
