Job Description Purchasing Coordinator
SHIFT: M-F 7AM - 4PM
Typical Position Functions
Purchasing of materials, supplies, and various products. Manage the procurement process, coordinating with internal departments and suppliers, and ensuring efficient and cost-effective sourcing of goods and services. Key responsibilities include identifying procurement needs, researching suppliers, negotiating contracts, processing purchase orders, and monitoring inventory levels.
Primary Position Duties and Responsibilities
- Procurement and supplier management
- Order processing / Order requisition management
- Contract negotiation (pricing and terms with suppliers)
- Communication and coordination with internal departments and suppliers
- Record keeping
- Cost savings
- Coordination with suppliers regarding quality topics (non-conformances, documentation, samples, etc.)
- Maintenance of QAD master data (item attributes, supplier info, pricing, etc.)
- Cost analysis: trend analysis and spot analysis on purchasing opportunities
Company Required Competencies
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proficiency in English (speaking, reading, writing)
- Mathematics and reasoning skills
- Documented competency in specific required skills (e.g., electrical knowledge for maintenance roles)
Position Required Competencies
- At least 2 years of experience in purchasing and vendor management
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Effective negotiation skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Detail-oriented and results-driven
- Strong cross-functional engagement skills
