Responsibilities
- Support clients and staff during lunch and leisure programming when needed
- Provide music therapy services according to your scheduled caseload. This includes, but is not limited to, music therapy services, support at enrichment programming, and co-therapy groups.
- Conduct initial and ongoing assessments to establish accurate therapeutic goals for clients
- Design music interventions based on therapeutic goals to improve clients quality of life
- Invite clients to interact by encouraging them to participate in musical experiences
- Monitor clients during music interventions and measure effectiveness and progress
- Keep records of client progress in Unitus after every session
- Maintain musical instruments, materials, and therapy/personal space at the office
- Communicate in a timely manner via phone and email with guardians, case managers, other therapists or applicable professionals
- Attend group and individual employee meetings
- Oversee and mentor music therapy interns and students
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team
- Attend team meetings
- Analyzes data to determine the effectiveness of treatments or therapy approaches; synthesizes data to draw conclusions or make recommendations for art therapy.
- Communicates client assessment findings and recommendations in oral, written, audio, video, or other forms.
- Confers with other health care professionals on the clients treatment team to develop, coordinate, or integrate treatment plans. Interprets the artistic creations of clients to assess their functioning, needs, or progress.
- Gathers clients information from sources such as case documentation, client observation, or interviews of client or family members.
- Seek clinical supervision and support when complications arise in therapeutic setting or therapy sessions.
- Facilitate specialized interventions when needed.
- Provide specialized art therapy services to assigned clients
- Assist in compiling materials for use in group therapy and/or educational/informational sessions.
- Document all activities related to assessment and treatment planning.
- Organizing and carrying out one-on-one and group therapy session.
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Music Therapy
- Board Certified or eligible for Board Certification
- Proficient in MS Office, GSuite
- Ability to work with diverse and multi-disciplinary teams
- Excellent time-management and organizational skills
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented and efficient
Compensation
This is a salaried position. You must be able to come to the office 32 hours per week with the remaining hours being flexible. Compensation for the Board Certified Music Therapist position starts at $50,000 per year depending on level or experience and additional qualifications. Salaried employees are also eligible for a technology stipend, continuing education reimbursement, banked PTO, medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance.
