About the job LMP Operator
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor LMP equipment and production systems in accordance with standard operating procedures.
- Conduct pre-start inspections and ensure that equipment is safe and ready for operation.
- Monitor operating conditions such as temperatures, pressures, flow rates, levels, and other process parameters.
- Make required operational adjustments to maintain stable and efficient production.
- Identify abnormal operating conditions, equipment faults, leaks, or process deviations and report them promptly.
- Perform routine operational checks and basic troubleshooting within the scope of the position.
- Record production data, equipment readings, inspections, and operational activities accurately.
- Maintain good housekeeping standards within the operating area.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, permit requirements, and safe work practices.
- Ensure that production activities meet required quality and quantity specifications.
- Assist maintenance personnel with equipment isolation, inspections, repairs, and testing when required.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, control room personnel, maintenance teams, and other operators.
- Participate in shift handovers and provide accurate information regarding equipment and process conditions.
- Respond appropriately to alarms, emergencies, and process upsets in accordance with emergency procedures.
- Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, training, and continuous improvement activities.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly and maintain a strong safety culture.
- Perform any other operational duties reasonably assigned by the supervisor or manager.
Minimum Qualifications
- Grade 12 / Grade 10 or equivalent, depending on company requirements.
- Technical or vocational qualification in Process Operations, Chemical Processing, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is advantageous.
- Relevant operator certification or training will be an added advantage.
- Valid driver's licence may be required depending on operational requirements.
5. Experience
- Previous experience in a production, processing, plant, mining, oil and gas, chemical, or industrial operating environment is preferred.
- Experience operating industrial machinery or process equipment will be an advantage.
- Familiarity with standard operating procedures, process monitoring, and workplace safety requirements.
