Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor LMP equipment and production systems in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Conduct pre-start inspections and ensure that equipment is safe and ready for operation.
  • Monitor operating conditions such as temperatures, pressures, flow rates, levels, and other process parameters.
  • Make required operational adjustments to maintain stable and efficient production.
  • Identify abnormal operating conditions, equipment faults, leaks, or process deviations and report them promptly.
  • Perform routine operational checks and basic troubleshooting within the scope of the position.
  • Record production data, equipment readings, inspections, and operational activities accurately.
  • Maintain good housekeeping standards within the operating area.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, permit requirements, and safe work practices.
  • Ensure that production activities meet required quality and quantity specifications.
  • Assist maintenance personnel with equipment isolation, inspections, repairs, and testing when required.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, control room personnel, maintenance teams, and other operators.
  • Participate in shift handovers and provide accurate information regarding equipment and process conditions.
  • Respond appropriately to alarms, emergencies, and process upsets in accordance with emergency procedures.
  • Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, training, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly and maintain a strong safety culture.
  • Perform any other operational duties reasonably assigned by the supervisor or manager.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Grade 12 / Grade 10 or equivalent, depending on company requirements.
  • Technical or vocational qualification in Process Operations, Chemical Processing, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is advantageous.
  • Relevant operator certification or training will be an added advantage.
  • Valid driver's licence may be required depending on operational requirements.

5. Experience

  • Previous experience in a production, processing, plant, mining, oil and gas, chemical, or industrial operating environment is preferred.
  • Experience operating industrial machinery or process equipment will be an advantage.
  • Familiarity with standard operating procedures, process monitoring, and workplace safety requirements.
