Position: HEAD: INTERNAL AUDIT & RISK MANAGEMENT

Five-Year Contract

Reporting to: Board of Directors (Strategically to the CEO)

Job Grade: E Lower

Purpose of Role

The Head of Internal Audit & Risk Management oversees enterprise risk, governance, and compliance, ensuring the highest standards of financial integrity and cybersecurity resilience.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement AI-driven risk analytics to detect fraud and operational inefficiencies.
• Strengthen cyber risk governance in alignment with telecom security regulations.
• Conduct forensic audits, ensuring compliance with financial and regulatory frameworks.
• Advise executive leadership on risk mitigation and corporate governance best practices.
• Develop and execute a risk-based internal audit plan, conducting audits to assess the effectiveness of internal controls and risk management processes.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
• Develop and implement fraud prevention and detection programs.
• Provide recommendations to improve governance processes and controls.
• Prepare and present audit and risk management reports to the Board of Directors and senior management.

Key Qualifications & Experience Requirements

• Bachelors in Auditing, Accounting, or Risk Management, or a related field, a Chartered Accountant certified (ICAN, ACCA), with a Postgraduate Qualification
• with a minimum of ten (10+) years experience in an Audit and Risk Management, with at least three (3+ years) in a senior audit and risk leadership role.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity risk frameworks and telecom financial compliance, is preferred.
• Strong understanding of audit and risk management principles and practices.
• Excellent knowledge of internal control frameworks and risk assessment methodologies.
