What will you do?

Nurse Practitioners are tasked with embodying the core values and mission statement of the facility, operating as seasoned, full-time professionals within the organization. Working under the guidance of the Medical Director, they provide primary care services aligned with their training to patients. This care is tailored for an outpatient, primary care setting serving a diverse community with varying cultural and linguistic backgrounds.

Daily Job Duties:

  • Provides examines, diagnoses and treats patients of all ages twenty-one (21) years of age and younger
  • Act as a consultant on pediatric cases referred by other staff providers
  • Completes medical charts after each visit in the electronic medical records system, following compnay charting policy timelines
  • Participates in providing continuity of care in outpatient management
  • All other duties or responsibilities as assigned by Medical Director or executive leadership

Coaching/Training:

  • Provides in-service training for staff in selected topics in Pediatrics as deemed necessary by the Medical Director
  • Assure a high-quality educational experience for medical students, residents and other individuals in a training role

Operations:

  • Assists and participates in internal quality control audits.
  • Actively engaged in achieving their productivity and quality metrics
  • Fulfills established guidelines set in place for provider encounter levels.

Maintain Compliance:

  • Practices in accordance with the company Delegation Protocol/Collaborative Practice Agreement; establish medical diagnoses for patients that are within the scope of practice, and order or prescribe legend drugs and medical devices as authorized by the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners (BNE) under Rules 221 and 222, and the Texas Medical Board (TMB) under Rules 193.2 and 193.6Type in specific job duties under this area
  • Attends internal and external meetings, workshops and conferences, and participates on task forces or committees, when necessary and as required.
  • Achieve and maintain LSCC Core Clinical Competencies
  • Perform all duties and services in full compliance with LSCC's Quality Standards
  • Fulfill established guidelines set in place for provider encounter levels
  • Achieve and maintain companies Core Clinical Competencies
  • APRNs will maintain all credentialing and licensing per company policy
  • Perform monthly peer audits
  • Have monthly meetings with their collaborating supervising physician
  • Achieve defined quality metrics
  • Maintains competencies, LMS trainings, BLS (AHA) as current

Must Haves:

  • Current Registered Nurse and Advance Practice Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Texas
  • DEA as required by Service line
  • Nurse Practitioner Board Certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • DEA as required by Service line
  • Maintain continuing education as required by licensing and any applicable accrediting boards, maintenance of certification if applicable, and completes additional educational units as required by LSCC (e.g., risk management courses).
  • Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND LICENSE

    • Three (3) years' experience as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in healthcare clinical setting
    • Previous work using electronic medical records (EMR)
    • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
    • Bilingual English/Spanish language skills
