Scope of Works:

  • Install, configure, and maintain database servers (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
  • Monitor database performance and implement tuning strategies to ensure optimal efficiency.
  • Plan, implement, and manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Ensure data security through access controls, encryption, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Support application teams with database queries, stored procedures, and schema designs.
  • Perform capacity planning and growth management for database environments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Maintain documentation for database configurations, processes, and security protocols.
  • Participate in database migration, upgrade, and patching activities.
  • Collaborate with IT, DevOps, and application development teams to support ongoing projects.

Qualification(s):

  • 5 - 8 years of professional experience as a Database Administrator in enterprise environments.
  • Strong knowledge of at least one major RDBMS (e.g., Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server) and familiarity with others.
  • Proficiency in SQL scripting, performance tuning, and indexing strategies.
  • Experience with database clustering, replication, and high availability setups.
  • Solid understanding of data backup, recovery, and disaster recovery best practices.
  • Familiarity with cloud database services (AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database, Google Cloud SQL) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of database security standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Preferred Skills (Good to Have):

  • Experience with automation tools for database management.
  • Exposure to NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or Cassandra.
  • Familiarity with DevOps CI/CD pipelines and database-as-code practices.
  • Understanding of data warehousing and business intelligence tools
