About the job Operation Geologist
We are currently connecting with experienced Operation Geologists for upcoming opportunities in drilling operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manages geological aspects of drilling operation, bridging office planning and wellsite execution by analyzing real-time data, guiding geo-steering, ensuring data quality and collaborating with drilling/reservoir team to optimize well placement.
- Develop geotechnical programs, pore pressure/fracture gradient analyses, and plan well paths.
- Act as the main geological liaison, monitor real-time data (LWD/MWD, mud logs), provide immediate operational guidance.
- Oversee the quality, interpretation, and archiving of geological data, ensuring accurate logging and reporting.
- Use geological insights for precise well placement, identify geological risks and recommend adjustments for better production.
- Prepare technical reports, daily updates, end-of-well reports, and participate in lessons learnt meeting.
- Work closely with drilling engineers, D&C Superintendent, wellsite geologists, reservoir engineers, and management, acting as the technical link between teams.
Requirements:
- Minimum 15 years of experience as Geologist; with minimum of 5 years of HTHP (or minimum 5 HTHP wells) experience.
- Proposed personnel must possess a tertiary qualification (especially in engineering or equivalent work experience).
- Excellent communication, advisory, interpersonal and writing skills in English.
- Analytical skills for data interpretation and problem-solving.
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
