Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and guidance to the other personnel in the Process Engineering Group i.e. the Developmental Process Engineer and the Process Engineer
  • Lead and/or assist on reviewing facilities modifications which are requested on the management of change (MOC) system. This includes assisting or leading process safety reviews/HAZOPS as necessary for facilities changes and modifications ensuring that all agreed recommendations and changes resulting from such reviews are incorporated into the design.
  • Act as Process technical expertise to provide input along with the other Technical Specialists for the development of technical specifications, procedures, and scopes of work for defining modifications, improvements, and process changes to the existing offshore facilities. This includes overseeing the detailed process design, preparation of the scope of work and technical specifications, review of Engineering Work packs, and coordinating between platform facilities specialists, offshore personnel and engineering contractors.
  • Development and implementation of AFEs for assigned Process Engineering activities as well as providing assistance with the quantifying of expected capital expenditure for other facilities improvement project.
  • Responsible and overseeing third party performance in the conducting of all designated process engineering related studies and works carried out on facilities
  • Provide support to Offshore team in monitoring and analyzing the facilities operating and production data to troubleshoot problems within the Platform process and utilities systems. This will involve carrying out process simulation studies and calculations as required and provide Process Engineering support for the facilities in accordance with the safety case and company policies.
  • Act as final reviewer on the offshore operating manuals and start-up and shutdown procedures for the facility. This includes leading Technical Training Courses for operating personnel and training operators utilizing the dedicated Dynamic Simulation Package.
  • Visits to offshore facilities will be required on a frequent basis to have engagement with offshore team and conduct surveillance / troubleshooting activities to optimize and/or improve the throughput capacity of the facility and ensure that the necessary availability targets can be met.
  • Act as Process Engineering Focal Point to provide process input to the relevant sections of the Field Development Plan and as a focal point initiating Basis of Design up to leading the process and preparatory work for all Major Capital Development Project (e.g. Low Expenditure Development, Near Field and West Flank Development, Carbon Capture and Storage Development). Responsible to always comply with company and/or industry standard, maximize production with optimize budget spending thru development concept selection (including CAPEX evaluation and analysis, contracting strategies). 
  • Act as Process Engineering Focal Point on special study related to GSA extension and ensure providing supporting data requested by Authority (MTJA) and Shareholders.
  • Act as Alternate external assessor for Offshore Production Technicians Annual Competency Based Assessment System (CBAS).

Requirements

  • Degree in Chemical Engineering or other acceptable related degree.
  • More than 12 years offshore oil & gas experience with at least 2 years in a senior process position within an Operating Company.
  • Process design office experience as either contractor lead engineer or clients process representatives. 
  • Hands-on experience in all aspects of offshore gas field process engineering including process computer simulation, development of PFDs and P&IDs and equipment sizing and specification.
  • Facilities handled should include gas separation, drying, treating and compression and condensate handling and stabilization.
  • Hands-on experience in all operation of offshore gas field including start-up and shutdown of critical system such as dehydration (pressure-temperature swing), propane refrigeration, chilled water and CO2 membrane system.
  • Experience in the design of systems for large scale removal of CO2 from hydrocarbon gas, including membranes, amine wash and other relevant methods.
  • Familiar with all process design safety requirements including experience of HAZOP, What If and QRA studies.
  • Familiar with environmental aspects including EIA studies and offshore emission requirements.
  • Expert on Process Simulation software (e.g. Hysis) and Cost Estimate Software (e.g. Questor).
  • Having expertise on Olga simulation is preferred.
