About the job Senior Drilling Engineer
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership in drilling technical and operational aspects to conform to COMPANY standards.
- Propose well designs, well planning and optimized drilling program including innovative solutions to complex drilling techniques for required for infill drilling of mature fields.
- Provide well basis of designs as required for field development plans and area development plans in consultation with all stakeholders
- Provide input to related contracting process and cycles like Tender Plan and Invitation of Bid Document, conduct Technical and Techno-Commercial evaluations, and prepare Award Recommendation
- Provide sound input for Work Programs and Budgets
- Recommend improvements and optimization include lesson learned from previous wells including evaluation and execution of necessary studies to deliver work program and budget.
- Ensuring that the AFEs are professionally prepared - accurate and reliable well cost estimate, drill ability of wells (incl. HPHT and Extreme Reach) and realistic drilling schedule
- Champion for HSE related to drilling activities e.g., risk assessment, contingency relief well planning for Infill Development wells
- Set standards and championing prudent reporting and documentation best practices including compliance with company and statutory reporting requirements
- Mentoring junior engineers and drilling staff
Requirements
- Minimum recognized Honors Degree (BSc or BEng)
- Minimum 10 years experience in drilling engineering and operations preferable gained through hands-on drilling experience in offshore gas and mature field (i.e., brownfield) operations
- Knowledge and experience in workovers, slot recovery, wellbore re-entry and P&A will be an advantage
- Knowledge and experience drilling in mature fields with depleted reservoirs.
- Familiar and experienced with HSE Standards and Procedures and HSE culture of major international operators
- Computer literate and demonstrated ability in the use of well design software (e.g., WellCAT, K&M directional planning software, IDS (drilling morning reporting) software, etc.)
