Job Description:

Job: Data Center Technican (Rack Install)

Location: North Dublin

Type: Fixed term Contract

Term: 6-12 months

Salary: 28,000

Working arrangement: Onsite

Elwood Roberts has numerous site teams in some of the largest Data Centres in the country. We are looking to add to our team onsite working within the Operations teams overseeing the Critical Infrastructure for the business. We currently have positions open in our Rack Install teams.

Some of the responsibilities for the job will include:

  • Manage work and priorities through ticketing system and/or workflows.
  • Racking and Installing new servers within the data center
  • Working with the likes of CAT5 and CAT 6 cables
  • Participate in team meetings for metric analysis and daily/weekly goals achievement
  • Basic Networking removal/installation and clearing of configurations.
  • Unpacking/repacking fragile electronics
  • Perform duties constantly and without deviations unless otherwise instructed
  • Updating progress through a web ticketing system
  • Reporting of processes and regular status updates
  • Work with cross-functional teams on a regular basis to complete routine work
  • Contribute to the development of other team members
  • Escalating to senior technicians and management as needed/required

We are looking for enthusiastic people looking to learn. We would also like to see people with:

  • Understanding of basic computer hardware architecture, and basic knowledge of networking infrastructure (cabling and networking equipment identification)
  • Understand how to wire up a server & the different wires used
  • Strong Communication Skills
  • Fluent English is required for this role.
  • Hardware troubleshooting knowledge
  • Passionate about IT infrastructure and hardware

Please note, there is a physical demand on this role. You would need the capability to left around 15-20kg. You would work in cramped spaces or in elevated locations while adhering to health & safety guidelines. It can also be loud in the facility, fluctuating climates also.
