The Opportunity

The firm is seeking a Senior Associate (approximately 5+ PQE) to join its Disputes & Investigations team in Melbourne.

This role offers the opportunity to work on complex and high-stakes commercial disputes, advising a diverse range of clients including corporates, regulators and high networth individuals. You will work closely with highly regarded partners across Melbourne and the firms national offices, contributing to litigation strategy while managing and progressing matters with appropriate supervision and support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise clients on a broad range of complex commercial disputes and regulatory matters.
  • Manage litigation matters including case strategy, procedural management and dispute resolution processes.
  • Appear in or assist with matters before courts and tribunals, including complex commercial litigation matters.
  • Collaborate with partners and colleagues across the firms national disputes practice on multi-party and high-profile matters.
  • Supervise and mentor junior lawyers while contributing to a collaborative and supportive team culture.
  • Support business development initiatives and help build strong client relationships.

About You

  • Admitted to practice in Australia or New Zealand with approximately 5 + years experience in commercial litigation, including experience gained in private practice.
  • Experience conducting litigation in the Federal Court of Australia or the Supreme Court of Victoria.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trusted client relationships.
  • Commercially minded with a proactive and solutions-focused approach to dispute resolution.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and support junior lawyers within a collaborative team environment.
