The Opportunity

The firm is seeking a Senior Associate to join its Corporate M&A practice in Brisbane, with a focus on energy, resources and critical minerals.

This role offers the opportunity to work on complex domestic and cross-border transactions across the energy and resources sectors, including mining, oil & gas and emerging critical minerals. You will advise leading corporates and investors on high-value M&A, joint ventures and project-related transactions while working closely with highly regarded partners and a national team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise on public and private M&A transactions across the energy and resources sectors.
  • Support and lead joint ventures, acquisitions and disposals in mining, oil & gas and critical minerals.
  • Draft and negotiate key transaction and project documentation.
  • Advise on regulatory and commercial arrangements for energy and resources projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-practice teams on complex, multi-faceted transactions.
  • Mentor junior lawyers and contribute to the growth of the practice.

About You

  • Admitted to practice in Australia or New Zealand with experience in Corporate M&A, ideally gained at a top-tier, national or international firm, with exposure to energy and resources transactions.
  • Strong experience across public and private M&A transactions.
  • Exposure to oil & gas, mining or energy-related transactions is highly regarded.
  • Ability to manage matters and mentor junior lawyers within a collaborative team.
  • Strong communication skills and a desire to build long-term client relationships.
