The Opportunity

The firm is seeking a Senior Associate / Special Counsel (6+ PQE) to join its Projects Disputes team in Brisbane.

This role offers the opportunity to act on complex disputes across a broad range of sectors including civil engineering, infrastructure, transport, energy, mining and oil & gas. You will work closely with highly regarded partners and advise government, principal and contractor clients on disputes across litigation, arbitration and alternative dispute resolution forums.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise clients on complex projects and construction disputes across multiple sectors.
  • Act on disputes across litigation, arbitration and alternative dispute resolution processes.
  • Develop dispute strategy and support the management of high-value, multi-party matters.
  • Work closely with partners and clients on complex and high-profile disputes.
  • Mentor junior lawyers and contribute to the development of the broader team.
  • Support business development initiatives and help grow client relationships.

About You

  • Admitted to practice in Australia or New Zealand with 6+ years' experience in projects, construction or infrastructure disputes, ideally gained at a leading firm.
  • Strong experience across litigation and/or arbitration in complex disputes.
  • Excellent drafting, analytical and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage matters and work effectively within a high-performing team.
  • A collaborative mindset with an interest in mentoring and contributing to practice growth.
