Job Description:

Purpose of role:

The Technical Intern will provide technical support to stakeholders including salespeople and customers. They are able to interact on a variety of remote mediums to execute support functions.


Main responsibilities:

  • Assist the sales and customers as required

  • Front line support for requests from end users and customers via both telephone / email / site requests in a courteous manner

  • Prioritize and schedule problems. Escalate problems (when required) to the appropriately experienced technician.

  • Document all pertinent end user identification information, including name, contact information, and nature of problems requiring extended technical support services

  • Test suggested support fixes to ensure the problem has been adequately resolved

  • Ensure, support and specification review with sales staff is provided.

  • Front line testing of RMA items to ensure faults are found and items are processed quickly escalate if necessary to relevant technician.

  • Ensure that a professional image to EM customers and suppliers are portrayed at all times, maintaining the highest ethical standards of conduct.

  • Participate in self & customer training programs as and when required.

  • Adhere to Occupational Health and Safety Regulations and recommendations at all times.

  • Identify and learn appropriate software and hardware used and supported by the organization


Essential requirements:

  • Matric

  • Electrical qualification/ trade test
