Chief Risk Officer (CRO) Online Trading / Brokerage (Remote)

About the Role:
A high-growth, international brokerage is seeking a Chief Risk Officer (CRO) to establish and oversee its enterprise risk framework. This executive role covers market, credit, and operational risk, ensuring compliance and discipline at every level of the business.

The company is well-funded, ambitious, and operates fully remotely, with a team distributed across Europe and Southeast Asia. While currently FSC-licensed, it holds itself to the standards of stricter regulatory regimes such as CySEC, FCA, and ESMA. The CRO will be responsible for embedding those standards into policies, procedures, and culture making risk management a competitive strength.

You will join at a pivotal stage, where your expertise will shape how the company governs its operations, expands into new regions, and maintains resilience while scaling.

Responsibilities:

• Build, implement, and monitor enterprise risk frameworks.

• Oversee capital adequacy, stress testing, and risk modelling.

• Establish policies for managing market, credit, and operational risk.

• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.

• Liaise with regulators and stakeholders as required.

• Promote a risk-aware culture across the organisation.

Requirements:

Establish enterprise risk controls, market/credit/operational risk frameworks, and regulatory compliance. 10+ years experience in risk, ideally with exposure to regulated FX/CFD brokers.

• Proven track record in regulated financial institutions

• Building and monitoring enterprise risk frameworks

• Stress testing

• Capital adequacy risk

Nice to haves:

• Cross-regulatory understanding (e.g., CySEC, FCA, ESMA plus lower-tier jurisdictions like SVG, Seychelles)

• Experience liaising with regulators

• Strong quantitative background (CFA/FRM)
