- Be familiar and having a basic understanding of the planning and completion sections;
- Performs the audit of less complex and low risk areas as instructed by the team manager and agreed at the planning stage within the allocated time budget;
- Understands the objectives and procedures of work assigned before commencement of the work;
- Carries out and documents work assigned in an organised and timely manner with the minimum possible errors;
- Learns from mistakes so as to avoid repeating them;
- Assists in the preparation of financial statements to be audited by a team of which is not a member or assist in reviewing the financial statements provided by clients, by performing casting and ensure comparative figures are in line with the prior year signed financial statements, ensures consistency of disclosures and accounting policies before provided for the first review either by assistant managers or managers depending of the complexity and level of reviewers in each work.
- Timely informs the Accountant in Charge (AIC) of any issues arising and communicates/resolves with the clients accounts responsible of any issues identified after consultation with the AIC;
- Informs the AIC as soon as anticipates that the time budget allocated for the specific tasks is expected to be exceeded and proceeding accordingly based on the instructions of the AIC;
- Is aware at any time and maintaining a list of all outstanding points and points for discussion in the areas assigned and taking appropriate follow up action;
- Is responsible to ensure that all tasks assigned are complete and review points are cleared;
- Is responsible to complete the performance evaluation forms by self-assessment and arranging to discuss them with the reviewer;
- Is responsible to help create a positive working environment for the team and helping other team members when necessary;
- The assistants start from Assistant during their first year and they progress up to Assistant 3 after each year of experience when they are involved in more complicated duties.
- Assistant 3 is also responsible to obtain the financial statements and evaluate and assess the financial position of each client, especially at planning and completion stage and during the review of the financial statements.
- Assistant 3 is responsible to prepare first draft of the tax computation and assess taxable amounts and tax liabilities of each client before the financial statements provided to the first reviewer
Person Specification:
- University degree with a minimum grade of 2:2 or equivalent, preferably with an accounting/audit background;
- Computer literacy;
- Fluency in Greek and English, both in verbal and written;
- Ambition and commitment to start a career as a professional accountant;
- Pleasant personality, professionalism and able to work under strict reporting deadlines;
- Being a fast learner.
