About the Role
We are seeking an experienced FPGA Engineering Manager to lead a high‑performing team developing secure, embedded FPGA solutions for advanced tactical communication products. This role combines hands‑on technical leadership with full responsibility for team development, project execution, and delivery of mission‑critical digital design solutions.
You will guide FPGA engineers through the full development lifecycle, collaborate with cross‑functional teams, and ensure high‑quality, on‑schedule delivery of embedded firmware for next‑generation communication systems.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of FPGA engineers
- Set goals, manage performance, and support career development
- Oversee timecards, training, and resource planning
Project & Technical Execution
- Manage schedules, budgets, and deliverables for FPGA development projects
- Drive continuous improvement of FPGA development processes
- Create cost estimates, development plans, and project schedules
- Collaborate with hardware, software, and systems engineering teams
- Ensure successful design, implementation, and verification of FPGA solutions
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Partner with engineering, program management, and product teams
- Support design reviews, technical documentation, and verification activities
- Contribute to secure communication system development initiatives
Security & Compliance
- Must be eligible to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance
- Support compliance with aerospace/defense development standards
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related STEM field
- 8+ years of FPGA/ASIC development experience
- Experience leading engineering teams or technical projects
- Strong understanding of FPGA/ASIC design and verification processes
- Hands‑on experience with embedded system development
Preferred Skills
- VHDL/Verilog coding for synthesis
- SystemVerilog verification experience
- UVM/OVM verification methodologies
- Experience with cryptographic or secure communication solutions
- Signal processing development for communication systems
- Ability to lead and mentor in a collaborative engineering environment
- Strong technical writing and communication skills
- Experience working with distributed or remote teams
- Active SECRET clearance (preferred but not required)
Compensation & Benefits
In compliance with New York pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is: $105,500 – $193,000 (Final offer may vary based on experience and location.)
