About the Role

We are seeking an Accountant III with strong experience in regulated revenue accounting within the Oil & Energy industry. This role is ideal for a mid‑senior accounting professional who can independently manage complex accounting activities, support month‑end close, and provide analytical insights that support leadership decision‑making.

You will serve as a resource for internal and external stakeholders, support audit processes, and help identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation and process optimization. This position requires strong analytical skills, mature judgment, and the ability to work with minimal direction.

Key Responsibilities

Month-End Close & Reporting

  • Perform journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analysis, and management reporting
  • Support SEC reporting activities
  • Prepare and maintain schedules, reports, and analyses for internal and external customers

Revenue Accounting & Compliance

  • Analyze large volumes of financial data, transactions, and revenue activity
  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP, internal controls, and regulatory requirements
  • Provide documentation and explanations for internal and external audits

Process Improvement & Collaboration

  • Participate in small projects with minimal supervision
  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes through technology and automation
  • Support cross-functional communication and collaboration across departments

Additional Responsibilities

  • Assist with documentation of accounting policies and procedures
  • Serve as a resource for less experienced accountants
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 4+ years of accounting experience in the energy industry
  • Strong analytical, financial, and problem‑solving skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently with limited direction

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA
  • Revenue Accounting experience
  • Familiarity with US GAAP
  • Experience with FERC‑regulated companies
  • Experience supporting audits and regulatory reporting
