We are currently recruiting for a Health and Safety Advisor to support a leading client in the industrial and manufacturing industry.
Job Overview: (65K-85K$)
We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Advisor to manage, plan, coordinate, and direct health and safety activities across manufacturing, transport, distribution, and field service sites. You will work to reduce the risk of employee injury, community impact, and property loss while providing strategic support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and direct H&S activities across various sites to enhance safety performance and mitigate risks.
- Develop and implement sustainable management strategies to achieve H&S objectives.
- Facilitate incident investigations and root cause analyses to continuously improve safety performance.
- Promote individual risk assessment methodologies to increase safety awareness among employees.
- Mentor and coach leadership on techniques and initiatives to boost employee engagement in safety practices.
- Implement corporate H&S standards and provide leadership to foster a world-class safety culture.
- Deliver training on HSE tools and the Safe Days Process.
- Participate in business improvement activities, teambuilding workshops, and special working groups.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree or higher in Safety Management, Engineering, Science, or a related field. Advanced degree and/or professional certification (CSP or CIH) preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of H&S experience in a chemical manufacturing, processing, or field service-related industry involving chemical handling.
- At least 2 years of supervisory or management experience preferred.
- Demonstrated management/safety skills in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Process Safety Management.
- Ability to travel approximately 50% throughout Eastern Canada.
- Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and strong teamwork skills.
