About the Role
As an Accountant (General), you will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing strategic financial insights to support business operations. You will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial reporting and assisting with budgeting, taxation, and auditing processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain financial statements, reports, and budgets.
- Ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards (AAS) and taxation regulations.
- Process financial transactions, including accounts payable, receivable, and payroll.
- Assist in tax preparation, including BAS, GST, and corporate tax returns.
- Conduct financial analysis and forecasting to support business decision-making.
- Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Assist in audits and liaise with external auditors as required.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to management.
- Utilize accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, and QuickBooks for financial management.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA or CA qualification (or working towards certification) is highly desirable.
- Proven experience as an Accountant, preferably in Australia.
- Strong knowledge of Australian taxation laws, financial regulations, and accounting standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, or similar.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
