Job Description Summary:

The primary responsibility of this role is to assemble and disassemble parts and subassemblies, conduct inspections, and perform maintenance and repairs as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble and disassemble parts and subassemblies following schematics, blueprints, and assembly instructions.
  • Conduct thorough inspections to check for defects and ensure assembled products meet specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve assembly issues to maintain production quality.
  • Utilize a range of hand tools, power tools, and machinery effectively to complete assembly tasks.
  • Position and align components manually or using hoists to facilitate accurate assembly.
  • Conduct quality control checks to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Prepare for assembly work by studying parts lists and gathering necessary tools and materials.
  • Verify specifications by measuring completed components and making adjustments as needed.
  • Maintain equipment by performing preventive maintenance and addressing any malfunctions.
  • Ensure a safe and clean working environment by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
  • Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies efficiently.
  • Document production and quality actions by completing necessary forms and reports.

Qualifications

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of mechanical principles with the ability to work confidently with tools and machinery.
  • High attention to detail to ensure accurate assembly according to provided instructions.
  • Problem-solving skills to identify and resolve assembly challenges.
  • Physical ability to lift and handle heavy objects as part of the assembly process.
  • Effective communication skills for interaction with supervisors and team members.
  • Experience in mechanical assembly, industrial maintenance, or related fields.
  • Commitment to safety procedures and quality control.
  • Dexterity and hand-eye coordination for assembling small components.
  • Ability to distinguish different colors as required.

Education, Experience, & Licensing Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous manufacturing or assembly experience preferred.
  • Certification in electronic assembly, soldering, or similar areas from the Association Connecting Electronics Industries is an advantage, but not required.
