As we scale nationally, we're seeking an entrepreneurial, hands-on CFO to help build the financial infrastructure that will support rapid growth and long-term sustainability.
About the Role
As CFO, you'll work directly with the CEO and executive team to shape financial strategy, improve systems and controls, and build a best-in-class finance department. You'll bring leadership experience in the construction industry ideally in niche or self-performed specialty trades and thrive in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environments.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Financial Leadership

Partner with CEO to shape and execute national expansion and business line growth (e.g., panel fabrication, M&A).

Design financial frameworks and KPI scorecards to guide investment, margin performance, and strategic planning.

Ensure strong financial visibility across departments and projects.
Operational Finance

Lead budgeting, forecasting, job costing, WIP reporting, and cash flow planning.

Oversee accurate, timely financial reporting and compliance.

Evaluate and implement ERP and project management systems to enhance scalability and integration.
Team Building & Organizational Development

Build and lead a strong finance team: accounting, compliance, job cost analysis, and risk management.

Create scalable financial processes tailored to design-build and high-volume operations.

Support cross-functional coordination across preconstruction, operations, and business development.
Risk Management & Compliance

Ensure company-wide financial compliance, insurance, and risk management practices are robust and up to date.

Champion ethical leadership and a culture of accountability, trust, and collaboration.
Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred).

10+ years finance leadership experience, including construction or specialty trades industry.

Experience with job costing, WIP, ERP systems, and scaling multi-state operations.

Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills.

Proven ability to thrive in entrepreneurial and hands-on environments.
