As we scale nationally, we're seeking an entrepreneurial, hands-on CFO to help build the financial infrastructure that will support rapid growth and long-term sustainability.

About the Role

As CFO, you'll work directly with the CEO and executive team to shape financial strategy, improve systems and controls, and build a best-in-class finance department. You'll bring leadership experience in the construction industry ideally in niche or self-performed specialty trades and thrive in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environments.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Financial Leadership

  • Partner with CEO to shape and execute national expansion and business line growth (e.g., panel fabrication, M&A).

  • Design financial frameworks and KPI scorecards to guide investment, margin performance, and strategic planning.

  • Ensure strong financial visibility across departments and projects.

Operational Finance

  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, job costing, WIP reporting, and cash flow planning.

  • Oversee accurate, timely financial reporting and compliance.

  • Evaluate and implement ERP and project management systems to enhance scalability and integration.

Team Building & Organizational Development

  • Build and lead a strong finance team: accounting, compliance, job cost analysis, and risk management.

  • Create scalable financial processes tailored to design-build and high-volume operations.

  • Support cross-functional coordination across preconstruction, operations, and business development.

Risk Management & Compliance

  • Ensure company-wide financial compliance, insurance, and risk management practices are robust and up to date.

  • Champion ethical leadership and a culture of accountability, trust, and collaboration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred).

  • 10+ years finance leadership experience, including construction or specialty trades industry.

  • Experience with job costing, WIP, ERP systems, and scaling multi-state operations.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills.

  • Proven ability to thrive in entrepreneurial and hands-on environments.
