Role Overview:
- Design the future network architecture for a large-scale public transport organization.
- Translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications within the domains of network and network security.
- Define standards, services (including ITSM processes), roadmaps, and lifecycle strategies for network-related services.
- Collaborate with external service providers responsible for implementation, architecture, and support.
Key Responsibilities:
Architecture & Design
- Define network and network security architecture based on evolving business needs.
- Translate stakeholder requirements into scalable, secure network solutions.
- Act as the solution architect across all network-related projects.
Collaboration & Oversight
- Work with providers to ensure delivery of technical architecture, detailed design, implementation, and support.
- Review, define, and document all processes associated with network projects in cooperation with relevant stakeholders.
Standards & Governance
- Establish and maintain technology standards and service roadmaps.
- Ensure alignment with ITSM and security compliance (e.g., NIS2 directive).
- Focus on customer-centric outcomes and uphold company values.
Conformity Criteria:
Language Requirements
- French or Dutch: C2 level, with the other language at least B2.
- English: C1 level.
Educational Background
- Masters degree in IT or equivalent professional experience.
Technical Expertise
- 15+ years of experience maintaining IT networks (expert level).
- 3+ years of experience with Cisco SDA networks.
- 5+ years of experience with Cisco WiFi access points.
- 1+ year experience with NIS2 cybersecurity framework.
- 10+ years of experience with endpoint security, NAC, VPN, PKI, and IPAM.
- 2+ years leading IT project meetings.
- Successful completion of at least 3 projects involving secure network design and implementation.
Work Location
- Hybrid work model with at least 2 on-site days per week (Brussels South), typically on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Evaluation Criteria:
- Track record of successful project collaboration with external partners.
- Experience working with SLAs and ITIL-based service management.
- Familiarity with public sector procurement processes.
- Effective communicator, able to operate under high-demand conditions.
- Experience within the public transport sector is an asset.
