About the job Project Team Leader

Well funded Biotech is looking for a dynamic Project Team Leader (PTL) to guide drug discovery programs involving cutting-edge science and cross-functional collaboration. The PTL will partner with key stakeholders to shape and execute strategies, oversee project progress from candidate nomination through clinical development, and ensure timely, budget-conscious delivery aligned with corporate goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and strategize for the cross-functional project teams targeting molecule development.
  • Present strategies to biotech's Drug Development Review Committee (DDRC) for endorsement and funding.
  • Make timely decisions based on scientific data, competitive landscape, and risk mitigation.
  • Advocate for the program and keep senior leadership informed.
  • Ensure integration of stakeholder opinions, including external partners in big pharma.
  • Maintain project performance and responsible resource stewardship.
  • Support smooth transition to leadership partners post-clinical proof-of-concept.

Qualifications:

  • PhD in life sciences or MD/PharmD, with 10+ years in biotech/pharma drug development.
  • Extensive experience in early-to-mid-stage clinical development, ideally in neuroscience or rare diseases.
  • Proven track record leading projects from pre-IND through clinical stages.
  • At least 10 years of biotech/pharmaceutical industry experience in drug development, preferably in early-mid stage clinical drug development through initial registration
  • Successful track record of leading projects/program teams in a cross-functional team environment from pre-IND-enabling activities through mid-stage clinical development (ideally through NDA filing).

Additional Details:

  • Onsite work at least 4 days per week.
  • Salary range: $310K to $325K plus two annual bonuses, based on experience.
