Position Summary

The Physician Recruiter leads full-cycle recruitment of physicians, Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), and clinical professionals, with a primary focus on Primary Care Physicians. This role supports organizational growth by building strong talent pipelines in a highly competitive healthcare market.

This person manages the entire hiring process from workforce planning and sourcing to candidate engagement, offer negotiation, onboarding collaboration, and early retention. Acting as a trusted advisor to physician and operational leaders, the Physician Recruiter brings market insight, strategy, and relationship-driven recruiting expertise to every search.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment Strategy & Workforce Planning

  • Partner with clinical and operational leaders to identify current and future hiring needs

  • Develop targeted strategies for high-priority and hard-to-fill roles

  • Provide market insight on compensation trends and candidate availability

Full-Cycle Recruitment

  • Lead end-to-end recruitment for physicians and APPs, including sourcing, outreach, screening, interviews, site visits, offers, and onboarding coordination

  • Deliver a high-touch, relationship-focused candidate experience

  • Build and maintain long-term pipelines of passive and active candidates

Sourcing & Pipeline Development

  • Use LinkedIn Recruiter, job boards, professional associations, referrals, and networking

  • Create innovative sourcing strategies for competitive specialties and markets

Stakeholder Partnership

  • Advise hiring physicians and leaders on interviewing, candidate evaluation, and market conditions

  • Ensure alignment between candidate expectations and organizational culture

Recruitment Operations

  • Maintain accurate ATS data, reporting, and compliance

  • Manage external search firms and recruitment vendors

  • Track metrics such as time-to-fill, source effectiveness, and pipeline health

Qualifications

Required

  • 3–5+ years of physician recruiting experience in a healthcare setting

  • Proven success filling physician roles in competitive markets

  • Strong full-cycle recruiting and offer negotiation skills

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building ability

  • Experience with ATS platforms and sourcing tools

Preferred

  • Experience in highly competitive healthcare markets

  • Knowledge of physician compensation models (wRVUs, productivity, incentives)

  • Familiarity with medical group or ambulatory care environments

  • Understanding of provider contracting and onboarding processes
