Manager, Physician Contracting and Compensation

Overview
The Manager of Physician Contracting and Compensation oversees all provider contracting and compensation activities. This includes managing the lifecycle of contracts and Professional Services Agreements (PSAs), ensuring compliance with policies and regulations, and serving as a liaison between providers, leadership, and internal teams. The role develops, implements, and monitors physician compensation models (wRVU and non-wRVU), incentive plans, and performance metrics to support organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, administer, and renegotiate provider contracts and PSAs.

  • Design and manage physician compensation and incentive plans, including FMV analysis.

  • Track physician productivity, performance metrics, and compensation benchmarks.

  • Oversee CME, call coverage agreements, and related payments.

  • Ensure accurate compensation calculations, reporting, and compliance with guidelines.

  • Partner with Finance, HR, and Payroll to coordinate timely compensation changes.

  • Create business cases and compensation models for practice acquisitions.

  • Drive process improvements and maintain strong relationships with physicians and stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree required; Masters preferred.

  • 5+ years of experience in physician contracting and compensation.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database programs.

  • Ability to work effectively with physicians, leadership, and cross-functional teams.
