We're seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Accountant to join a global medical device company in Alameda for a temporary contract. Reporting directly to the Accounting Manager, you will be a key player in the monthly general ledger close and financial statement analysis. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional to contribute to a fast-paced and dynamic finance team.

What You'll Work On

In this role, you'll be responsible for a variety of critical accounting tasks, including:

• Preparing General Ledger entries and performing comprehensive account reconciliations to support the monthly close.
• Assisting with SOX control monitoring and adherence to ensure compliance.
• Providing support during external financial audits and helping to coordinate audit activities.
• Preparing monthly financial statements and variance analysis for management review.
• Reviewing journal entries and account reconciliations from staff accountants as needed.
• Assisting with special projects assigned by management.
• Ensuring all work adheres to the companys Quality Management System (QMS) and all applicable regulations and standards.

What You'll Bring

• A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Proven experience working in SAP or another large ERP system.
• Solid knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• A CPA is highly preferred.
• Experience working in a publicly traded company is a plus.
• Knowledge of auditing practices and principles.
• Previous experience in the medical device or a related industry is a bonus.
