Fire Sprinkler Contract Sales Rep

Summary:
Our client is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Contract Sales Representative to join their team! This role is responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, managing customer relationships, and overseeing contract sales for fire sprinkler systems. The ideal candidate will be proactive in generating leads, presenting proposals, and ensuring the successful execution of contracts while achieving both sales and profit objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain customer relationships by anticipating needs, addressing concerns, and providing technical support
- Generate layouts, estimates, proposals, and quotations for contract projects and related services
- Seek out new customers to expand the client base, including engaging in cold calling when necessary
- Ensure proposals, contracts, and turnover/billing packages are completed accurately and on time for operations staff
- Formulate sales plans and goals for the contract department, collaborating with district leadership to execute strategies
- Qualify prospects and schedule sales calls by following up on leads and applying defined marketing approaches
- Take an active role in customer communities and industry associations to strengthen brand presence and credibility
- Oversee related service work and small projects, including estimating and day-work assignments when required
- Maintain a focus on profitability throughout the sales cycle and contract execution process
- Provide project management support for sold projects as needed
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4 years of fire sprinkler sales experience
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, project specifications, sprinkler system design documents, and NFPA codes
- Proven sales achievements supported by strong negotiation and leadership skills
- Self-driven with the ability to perform successfully with limited supervision
- Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and additional software such as Adobe and Bluebeam
- Ability to close sales and effectively handle diverse situations encountered during the sales cycle
Education/Certification Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, construction management, or engineering, or equivalent work experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with sprinkler system design, including hydraulic calculations
- Project management background in fire sprinkler systems
- Possession of an established list of market contacts and a strong book of business
