Project Manager / Estimator - Heavy Civil Construction

Summary
Our client is seeking a Project Manager / Estimator to join their team! This is a full-time, high-impact role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering successful, profitable heavy civil construction projects. The company focuses on Earthwork, Demolition, Utilities, and Specialty Contracting for both public and private sector clients across the Midwestern United States.
Responsibilities

Manage all phases of heavy civil construction projects from pre-construction through closeout

Prepare detailed cost estimates and project proposals for public and private sector bids

Review and analyze blueprints, specifications, and project documents to determine scope and cost

Coordinate with field crews, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure efficient project execution

Track project budgets, schedules, and progress to ensure goals are met

Conduct regular site visits to assess needs, progress, and compliance

Identify and mitigate risks throughout the project lifecycle

Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to encourage repeat business
Requirements

5+ years of experience in heavy civil construction, including both estimating and project management

Proven background in Earthwork, Demolition, Utilities, or related scopes of work

Strong knowledge of construction documents, specifications, and project sequencing

Proficiency with estimating and project management software

Excellent communication and organizational skills

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams
Education/Certification Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred
