Summary:

Our client is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join their team in Palo Alto, California! This role focuses on designing and supporting aesthetic medical laser systems, contributing to electronic design, embedded development, and hardware testing.

Responsibilities:

• Perform electronic design and simulation for medical laser systems
  
• Select parts considering obsolescence, availability, and cost factors
  
• Design PCBs using Altium Designer
  
• Develop embedded controllers, primarily ARM-based
  
• Design system wiring harnesses and cables
  
• Conduct hardware and software testing, including system compliance testing
  
• Build prototypes and perform surface-mount device (SMD) rework
  

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of direct electrical engineering experience
• Strong knowledge of IGBT and MOSFET devices for power switching and motor control
• Experience with pyroelectric detectors and sensor interfacing
• Skilled in designing constant current sources and switching power supplies
• Understanding of magnetic circuits and transformers related to power and motor control
• Experience with ADCs, DACs, and serial communication protocols such as I2C and SPI
• Familiarity with operational amplifiers for analog signal processing
  
• Basic digital design and interfacing capabilities
• Knowledge of robotics including kinematics, motor control, and mechatronics
  
• Experience working with voltages up to 1000 V, currents up to 400 Amps, and power up to 4 KW
• Strong oral and written communication skills and project-oriented mindset
• Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering teams
• Medical aesthetic industry experience is highly preferred

Education/Certification Requirements:

• A Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) is required

• Experience in the medical aesthetic industry is preferred
