About the job Crane Operator
Key Job Descriptions
- Operating the COMPANY's offshore pedestal cranes.
- Daily, weekly and monthly PPM on offshore pedestal cranes.
- Maintaining proper level of engine oil, gear oil, hydraulic oil, coolant, lubrication and fuel for offshore pedestal cranes before operating.
- Minor troubleshooting on offshore pedestal cranes.
- Lubrication of moving parts, winches, gearboxes, pumps and wire ropes.
- Pre-startup inspection before start operation of offshore pedestal crane.
- Basic visual inspection on offshore pedestal crane.
- Record lifting activities in crane operator's logbook and share with the COMPANY focal person.
- Housekeeping and maintaining general cleanliness of offshore pedestal crane.
- Submit daily pre-startup checklist to the COMPANY representative on daily basis.
- Maintain record of all pre-startup checklist, inspection checklist and PPM activities checklist.
- Perform general labour as follows while not operating the crane:
- General cleaning, loading and unloading of helicopters, as Damage Control Team member, assisting various trades personnel with rigging, handling of tools and setting equipment. All training cost in fulfilling requirement for the above services shall be borne by COMPANY.
Competency / Training
- Valid Permit-To-Work Level 2.
- Rigging and Slinging Level 1 or Basic (minimum).
- Valid Basic Offshore Safety and Emergency Training (BOSIET – OPITO).
- Induction and Emergency Training.
- Crane Operator Competency Training - Level 2 as stipulated in company Lifting Equipment Guideline:
- Preference to Offshore Petroleum Industries Training Institute (OPITO) and API University (API-U) certified personnel.
Physical Requirement
- Undergone and passed periodic medical examination from appointed Authorized Medical Examiner (AME) for crane operator duty.
- Maximum age of 60
Minimum qualification
- Personnel to possess minimum Penilaian Menengah Rendah (PMR), or Sijil Rendah Pelajaran Malaysia (SRP), or Sijil Vokasional Malaysia (SVM), or Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM). Higher education certificates are encouraged.
- Proficiency in writing, speaking and reading Bahasa Malaysia and English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel.
- Experienced in operating offshore pedestal crane minimum for three (3) years
