I. POSITION

In the development of the business, we are looking for a Mechanical Engineer Intern in to support our client in its growth in the region.

II. JOB DESCRIPTION

The position of Mechanical Engineer Intern is divided into two parts. The intern will work 50% for ERAI ASIA and 50% for our client. Mechanical engineers will use their technical knowledge to analyze problems and to research, design and provide solutions.

Main missions:

1. Coordination of production projects from receipt of order to delivery to the customer:

- Sending purchase orders.

- Updating production and delivery schedules.

- Setting up and monitoring supplier rating grids, "production projects" chapter.

- Anticipation and management of risks (quality defects, delays, material shortages, logistical problems, etc.).

- Logistics management (transport price requests, shipment tracking).

- Weekly reporting to direct manager.

2. New supplier sourcing:

- Based on the scoring grids, define the production activities that require one or more additional suppliers.

- Search for new supplier companies to approach.

- Organization of supplier visits with a view to qualifying a new supplier.

- Reporting on supplier visits.

- Organization of calls for tender with a view to qualifying a new supplier.

- Setting up and monitoring a new supplier database. This database will enable us to measure the level of qualification, price and commitment of a new supplier before placing a first order.

3. Tender management:

- Studying and modifying plans before issuing invitations to tender.

- Sending RFQs to qualified suppliers.

- Setting up and monitoring the schedule of ongoing RFQs.

- Follow-up by email and telephone to ensure that bids are received on time.

- Purchase negotiation.

- Setting up and updating supplier rating grids, and pricing chapter.

- Reporting to direct manager to prepare customer quotations.

4. Market research:

- Support the team in carrying out market research on behalf of the company's customers.

III. QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

Diploma: Studying mechanical engineering at university/college

Experience: Students from the third academic year/ Fresher & Previous international experience (internships or travel)

Languages: Fluent in English and French 

Skills:

- Able to read drawings of mechanical components and assemblies.

- Trained in the use of CAD tools to find information or suggest modifications to drawings where necessary.

- At ease with technical vocabulary (at least in English and French, any additional language such as Vietnamese or Chinese is a plus) and standards in the fields of machining, sheet metal work, mechanical welding and boiler making.

- Understanding of Incoterms.

- Ability to communicate skillfully, clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.

- Able to act as a production manager.

- Initiated the use of the Google suite.

- Organized and rigorous work ethic.
