Overall responsible for risk identification and assessment, risk mitigation and control monitoring, incident management, risk reporting, and promoting risk culture and awareness within the department they manage.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Proactively identify, assess, and document operational and business risks arising in lending processes (Front-end, operations, credit and commercials, technology, and other support teams).
  • Facilitate periodic Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSA) within the function, ensuring that key risks and controls are up to date.
  • Monitor emerging risks such as fraud, technology failures, risks from new product launch, and process lapses in business loan operations.
  • Support implementation of risk mitigation plans in coordination with functional managers.
  • Conduct control testing and report on the effectiveness of key controls
  • Recommend process improvements to reduce recurring risk events or losses.
  • Act as the first point of contact for reporting operational incidents and near misses within the function.
  • Ensure timely root cause analysis (RCA) and follow-up on corrective and preventive actions
  • Coordinate with Risk and Compliance teams for reporting significant risk events to senior management.
  • Prepare and present periodic risk dashboards, Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), and control performance summaries to the Risk Management team.
  • Participate in business risk committees or forums, representing the functions risk profile.
  • Support internal and external audit processes and ensure closure of audit observations.
  • Promote risk awareness among business and operational teams through training and communication.
  • Encourage a culture of early risk reporting and transparent communication.
