Job Summary
The Production Supervisor is a member of the Operations Team and, under the guidance of the Plant Manager, is responsible for overseeing and coordinating production activities to maximize associate and equipment resources. The role ensures production and quality standards are met or exceeded while maintaining the highest safety standards. The Production Supervisor also assists the Plant Manager in monitoring and reporting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Apply intellect, judgment, and management skills to achieve desired production performance results across all KPIs.
Track and take ownership of KPI improvement daily.
Supervise and direct the work of assigned shift employees.
Identify projects to reduce waste and increase efficiency.
Ensure compliance with safety and environmental policies, including housekeeping.
Monitor and approve associate work hours via the time-keeping system.
Assist in safety and process improvement projects.
Enforce company policies regarding safety, environment, and production.
Collaborate with maintenance and quality to ensure optimal production and compliance with product specifications.
Ensure associates receive proper training and tools to perform effectively and safely.
Safe machine operation
Proper documentation of quality and production reports
Inspection of part quality
Compliance with Standard Operating Procedures
Evaluate, recognize, and discipline associates in coordination with Human Resources.
Inspect products to ensure conformance to specifications.
Perform machine setups and adjustments to maximize efficiency.
Review production schedules and assign work accordingly.
Recommend improvements for production methods, working conditions, equipment performance, and product quality.
Analyze and resolve work problems or assist employees in solving them.
Motivate workers to achieve company goals.
Maintain time and production records, including attendance.
Ensure smooth hand-offs between shifts.
Prepare performance appraisals of subordinates.
Participate in disciplinary decisions when necessary.
Perform subordinate duties when required.
Assist with maintenance, installation, and sampling projects as needed.
Conduct minor machine repairs (e.g., fill guns, conveyors, air lines, process adjustments).
Manage flow of materials to machines, ensuring minimal downtime.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
