Overview: Director of Project Management position for a rapidly expanding infrastructure contractor specializing in critical utility and heavy civil construction projects throughout the East Coast.

The Director of Project Management role oversees planning, implementation, and tracking of large-scale infrastructure projects, leading a team, and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure construction excellence, safety compliance, timely delivery, and budget adherence.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Lead major infrastructure projects including scope definition, capital budgeting, and heavy equipment resource allocation
Drive complex civil construction projects meeting critical path milestones and financial targets
Conduct infrastructure site assessments and develop earthwork/foundation management plans
Evaluate geotechnical risks and develop mitigation strategies for heavy civil operations
Ensure designs comply with state and federal, and other regulatory requirements
Develop and maintain master schedules for multi-phase infrastructure projects
Coordinate with government agencies, utilities, and stakeholders on public works projects
Provide strategic direction for major earthwork and infrastructure operations
Oversee multiple heavy equipment crews and civil engineering teams
Develop team capabilities in specialized civil construction methods
Implement risk management strategies for large-scale public infrastructure
Direct technical review of civil engineering specifications and submittals
Additional responsibilities as needed for project success
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum 7 years of experience managing heavy civil construction projects
Project management and people management experience- Experience with over-all construction management on complex projects from preconstruction through final punch-list and delivery.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of professional training and construction experience. Preference for a degree in an Engineering discipline (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Environmental), Construction Management or related field
Comprehensive knowledge of the principles and practices of project management with emphasis on construction, and ability to perform construction engineering analyses, supervise staff in construction management activities, and advise on critical construction issues.
Strong knowledge of civil construction methods, operations, and infrastructure specifications
Exceptional understanding of heavy equipment operations and logistics
Excellent communication skills and leadership ability
