Overview:
We are seeking a results-driven Production Supervisor to lead and support our high-performance production team in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment. This key leadership position upholds a safety-first culture, emphasizes continuous improvement, and exemplifies servant leadership to foster an engaged, motivated workforce.
As a Finishing Production Supervisor - 2nd shift, you will be the first line leader to support team members within your area/zone. You will be responsible for coordinating safe and efficient day-to-day activities in order to maintain scheduled production requirements and to ensure your team is safe and successful.
This position will be based in Ripon, WI. This position will be on 2nd shift, Monday through Thursday, 3:00pm to 1:00am. There may be occasional overtime required on Fridays from 1:00pm-9:00pm.
Position Responsibilities:
These responsibilities are essential for ensuring that safety is a priority in the workplace and for creating a culture where safety concerns are taken seriously.
Primary duties:
Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA standards).
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of safety standards and any regulatory changes.
Implement and enforce safety procedures in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
Ensure that appropriate PPE is available and used correctly by employees. This might include bump caps, gloves, eye protection, or any other equipment necessary for specific tasks.
Promote ergonomic practices to prevent injuries related to repetitive motions or poor posture, such as adjustable workstations, proper seating, and regular breaks.
Creates an environment of continuous improvement
Empowers and expects every team member to contribute to continuous improvement
Demonstrates a core value of respectful treatment of all team members in every discussion, interaction and decision
Desires to eliminate waste and to develop team member skill to improve lean operations
Ensure that employees are properly trained by their Team Leader or other designated trainers in the areas of safety, quality, equipment operation and 6S
Interface with technical staff to ensure proper support
Establish annual goals and objectives that support the attainment of operating metrics
Work to continuously improve processes and reduce inventories and work in progress
Serve as the first point of contact for employees regarding employee relations issues
Interface with Union Stewards in contract and discipline issues
Other duties as assigned
Position Qualifications:
Knowledge/Experience/Education:
Proven history of ability to lead with a servant leadership mindset.
A minimum of one to three years of experience in a high volume, fast-paced manufacturing environment is preferred.
Previous manufacturing supervision experience would be preferred.
Bachelors Degree in Business, Manufacturing Engineering or Operations is preferred.
Previous professional, internship or co-op experience will be taken into consideration as relevant experience.
Skills and Abilities:
Must lead by example in adhering to safety protocols and maintaining a safety-first attitude
Encourage employees to report safety concerns without fear of retaliation.
Hold team members accountable for their safety behaviors and adherence to safety policies.
Conduct regular safety audits of work areas, equipment, and processes.
Address any non-compliance or unsafe practices promptly
Must be self-driven and ambitious with proven leadership capabilities, including providing coaching, mentoring and supervision within a team environment.
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel).
Strong problem solving skills, including encouraging others on your team to think proactively and create solutions.
Basic understanding of process control, production scheduling, Kaizen, Kanban and Lean manufacturing is preferred.
MUST HAVE:
Bachelors Degree in Business, Manufacturing Engineering or Operations is preferred.
Proven history of ability to lead with a servant leadership mindset.
1-3 years of experience in a high volume, fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Previous manufacturing supervision experience would be preferred.
Must be self-driven and ambitious with proven leadership capabilities, including providing coaching, mentoring and supervision within a team environment.
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel).
