About the Job
Our client is seeking for an ambitious Business Development Manager, who will be at the forefront of driving business growth, leading broker engagement strategies, and increasing the companys penetration within key sectors. The ideal candidate will be empowered to make strategic decisions, nurture high-value relationships, and contribute directly to the organizations long-term vision.
Principal Duties / Responsibilities
Develop and execute strategic plans to drive market penetration, broker engagement, and business expansion across targeted sectors.
Focus on increasing corporate sector engagement to expand the company's market share.
Manage and grow existing client and broker relationships, while acquiring new accounts through structured relationship management.
Work cross-functionally with internal teams (e.g., underwriting) to ensure alignment in client servicing and account management.
Monitor insurance industry trends and competitive activities to proactively refine strategies and seize emerging opportunities.
Foster a high-performance culture by leading with clarity, energy, and integrity.
Ensure strict compliance with company policies, operational procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Oversee effective use of human and material resources to achieve business goals.
Identify and escalate key issues requiring senior management attention and follow through on resolutions.
Coordinate and host broker relationship visits and strategic meetings to deepen trust and unlock new business opportunities.
Job Requirements
Bachelors degree in Business, Insurance, Finance, or a related discipline.
Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in business development or sales, preferably within the insurance industry.
Solid understanding of insurance broker networks, B2B sales, and corporate relationship management.
Demonstrated success in driving revenue growth and building long-term client relationships.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
Self-motivated with strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Residency in Abuja or willingness to relocate.
