About the Job: In this role, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth by identifying new business opportunities, expanding market presence and developing strong relationships with distributors, retailers and strategic partners. In this role, you are required to possess expert knowledge of wholesale distribution.
Success in this role requires a proactive minded professional who thrives in building long-term strategic partnerships, driving revenue growth, increasing brand visibility across wholesale, retail, e-commerce and distribution channels.
You are expected to have excellent communication and presentation skills.
Principal Duties / Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales Growth
Identify, evaluate and develop new business opportunities for rice and rice-based products
Expand sales across key channels, including distributors, wholesalers, retailers and export markets
Achieve assigned sales targets, revenue goals and market expansion objectives
Market Expansion & Strategy
Conduct market research to identify trends, pricing, competitor activity and customer needs
Develop and execute business development strategies aligned with company goals
Identify new regions, segments and partnerships for growth
Client & Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong relations with key customers, distributors and strategic partners
Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, contracts and long-term agreements
Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention
Product & Brand Development
Promote the companys rice products, including varieties, quality standards, packaging and certifications
Collaborate with marketing teams on promotions, trade shows and product launches
Provide market feedback to product development and operations team
Forecasting & Reporting
Prepare sales forecasts, budgets and performance reports
Monitor sales performance against targets and implement corrective actions when needed
Maintain accurate CRM and sales pipeline data
Cross-Functional Coordination
Work closely with procurement, quality, logistics and finance teams to ensure smooth order fulfillment
Support compliance with food safety, quality and regulatory standards in target markets.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, Agriculture or a related field.
3-5 years of experience in wholesale distribution/ business development, preferably in rice, grains, FMCG or agri-commodities
Proven experience in domestic and/or export market is a plus
Skills & Competencies
Strong negotiation, communication and presentation skills
In-depth knowledge of rice varieties, supply chains and market dynamics
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
