Vacancy: Business Development Representatives (Contract Sales Agents)

Salary: ₦70,000 monthly

A specialised retail outlet focused on high-end lubricants and automotive fluids is seeking to engage proactive and results-driven Business Development Representatives on a contract basis. This role is ideal for individuals who are confident in the field, skilled at building relationships, and capable of driving sales through direct engagement with target customers.

Role Overview

The Business Development Representative will be responsible for expanding the outlet's customer base by developing relationships with local mechanic hubs, workshops, and corporate fleet operators. This is a field-oriented role that requires regular movement, consistent client engagement, and the ability to identify and convert sales opportunities. Successful candidates are required to report to the shop once every week for updates, coordination, and performance review.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and approach potential customers including mechanic clusters, auto workshops, and corporate fleet operators
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to drive repeat business
  • Promote and sell high-end lubricants and automotive fluid products
  • Educate customers on product benefits, specifications, and suitability
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities within assigned areas
  • Generate leads, follow up on prospects, and close sales opportunities
  • Provide regular feedback and field reports to management
  • Meet or exceed assigned sales targets
  • Represent the brand professionally in all customer interactions
  • Report physically to the shop once a week for updates and coordination

Requirements

  • Minimum of SSCE (OND/HND is an added advantage)
  • Previous experience in sales, business development, or field marketing is preferred
  • Basic knowledge of automotive lubricants and fluids is an advantage
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
  • Good networking and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work in a target-driven environment
  • Familiarity with local mechanic hubs or automotive markets is a plus
  • Must be reliable and able to provide weekly reports
