The client is a reputable, SEC‑licensed stockbroking and investment services firm headquartered in Abuja. The firm provides equity trading, portfolio management, investment advisory, and capital‑market access to government institutions, MDAs, corporates, and high‑net‑worth clients. 

With a strong focus on compliance, transparency, and service excellence, the organization is expanding its public‑sector footprint and seeks a Business Development Manager with proven experience selling stockbroking and investment solutions to government entities.

Role Summary
The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving public‑sector business growth by acquiring, managing, and expanding relationships with Ministries, Departments, Agencies (MDAs), government institutions, and public‑sector investment bodies. The role requires deep knowledge of capital‑market products, strong government‑relationship management skills, and a track record of securing mandates within the public sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategies to acquire public‑sector clients for stockbroking, investment advisory, and portfolio management services.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision‑makers in MDAs, government agencies, parastatals, and public institutions.
  • Identify and pursue investment mandates, trading opportunities, and capital‑market initiatives within the public sector.
  • Prepare and deliver tailored presentations, proposals, and investment briefs to government stakeholders.
  • Manage end‑to‑end onboarding of public‑sector clients, ensuring compliance with SEC, NGX, and internal regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with the trading, research, and portfolio teams to deliver market insights and investment recommendations to government clients.
  • Track government budgets, policy changes, and investment programs to identify new business opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate sales pipelines, forecasts, and performance reports.
  • Represent the firm at government forums, regulatory events, and public‑sector investment engagements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors' degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years experience in business development within stockbroking, investment banking, asset management, or financial services.
  • Demonstrated track record of securing mandates from MDAs and government institutions.
  • Professional certifications (CFA, MBA) are an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of SEC, NGX, and public‑sector procurement regulations.
