The Inventory Reconciliation Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of inventory records across all e-commerce platforms, warehouses, and fulfilment centres. This role involves identifying discrepancies, performing regular reconciliations, and coordinating with internal teams to resolve inventory issues efficiently.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reconciliations between systems (ERP, WMS, marketplace platforms).
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to stock levels, shrinkage, returns, and damaged goods.
- Monitor inventory movements including inbound, outbound, returns, and transfers.
- Reconcile inventory across multiple sales channels (e.g., website, marketplaces like Amazon, Flipkart).
- Collaborate with warehouse, logistics, and operations teams to ensure accurate stock records.
- Analyze root causes of inventory mismatches and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate documentation and audit trails for all reconciliation activities.
- Generate inventory reports and provide insights to management.
- Assist in cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and inventory control procedures.
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, commerce, or related field.
- 2–4 years of experience in inventory management or reconciliation, preferably in D2C/FMCG/e-commerce.
- Strong knowledge of inventory systems (ERP/WMS) and marketplace integrations.
- Experience with platforms like Shopify, Amazon Seller Central, Flipkart Seller Hub.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Experience working with high SKU volumes is a plus.
- Knowledge of inventory audit processes and controls.
