About the job Assistant Finance Manager
We are looking for a detail-oriented and results-driven Assistant Finance Manager to support our finance operations in the fast-paced eCommerce sector. This role will assist in managing day-to-day financial activities, support month-end closing, financial analysis, budgeting, and ensure compliance with internal controls and external regulations. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with large data sets, fast-moving digital business models, and cross-functional collaboration.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in preparing accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
- Support the budgeting process and rolling forecasts; monitor performance against budgets and explain variances.
- Track online sales performance, advertising spend (e.g., Google, Meta, marketplace ads), logistics costs, and customer returns.
- Work closely with operations and supply chain teams to ensure accurate inventory valuation, landed cost calculations, and cost of goods sold reporting.
- Ensure timely month-end closing activities including reconciliations, journal entries, and accruals.
- Perform analysis to support decision-making, such as pricing strategies, customer acquisition cost (CAC), lifetime value (LTV), and channel profitability.
- Support internal and external audits, ensure tax filings and statutory reporting are completed on time, and help maintain a strong internal control environment.
- Identify and implement improvements in financial processes and reporting efficiency.
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field (CA/ACCA is preferred).
- 7-10 years of experience in finance, preferably in the eCommerce, retail, or consumer goods sector.
- Strong understanding of eCommerce business models, including marketplaces, DTC, and subscription models.
- Proficiency in Excel and financial systems
- Experience with analytics tools or dashboards (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or Google Data Studio) is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-growing environment.
- Familiarity with payment gateways, marketplace settlements (Amazon, Flipkart, Shopify, etc.), and reconciliation practices.
