About the job Finance Accountant

The Financial Accountant is responsible for managing financial transactions, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The incumbent will maintaining accurate financial records and providing insights to support strategic decision-making within the organization.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare and maintain financial records, reports, and general ledger accounts in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Reconcile bank statements and ensure proper documentation and approvals.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Analyse financial information to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable functions.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP).
  • Support audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Prepare and file tax returns, including income tax, VAT, and other relevant taxes, ensuring compliance with local regulations
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Maintain fixed asset register and perform periodic asset verifications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on financial initiatives and process improvements.

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. Inter CA qualification is a must
  • 4-6 years' experience as an accountant or in a similar role.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, MS Dynamics).
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Experience with financial consolidation and intercompany accounting.
  • Knowledge of corporate tax, VAT, and other regulatory requirements.
