About the job Logistics Manager
The Logistics Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing the movement of coffee and cocoa products from origin to destination. This role ensures timely, efficient, and cost-effective transportation, warehousing, and distribution, while maintaining compliance with all international and domestic regulations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervision of all logistics operations (import and export) for cocoa and coffee
- Coordinate with the warehouse to ensure that the cocoa and coffee batches are arranged according to the instructions.
- Supervise freight forwarders to ensure that shipments are made on time.
- Interface with Customs and other authorities.
- Regular coordination with the operations team to ensure that deadlines are met for each shipment.
- Verify and approve all invoices from contractors who deal with the company.
- Identify, obtain and compile the documents necessary to obtain permits, licenses and certificates for customs clearance.
- Process shipping documentation, customs declarations and other required documents, including post-customs clearance changes, daily in accordance with internal regulations and procedures.
- Process, handle, distribute and archive all required documents in the shipping area.
- Facilitate timely, secure import, export and shipping and make products, packages and documents profitable across international borders.
- Implement customs brokerage activities such as the preparation and maintenance of shipping records, the preparation of bills of lading and various calculations including duties, tariffs, price conversions, weights and volumes.
- Provide customs-related import/export services for transportation.
- Classify goods based on information provided by customers.
- Verify items shipped, shipping validity dates, debits, and duties/tariffs to government institutions.
- Support in the drafting and management of purchase orders, delivery notes, invoices and other administrative documents related to purchases.
- Update of logistics databases; writing of minutes, correspondence, organization of files.
- Maintain digital and physical files of invoices.
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
- Bachelors degree in logistics, supply chain management, international trade, or related field.
- At least 2-3 years of experience in logistics or supply chain, ideally within agricultural commodities (coffee, cocoa, or similar).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Bilingual in English and French would be an advantage
- Knowledge of purchasing and inventory management rules and processes.
- Mastery of office automation tools and reporting.
- Knowledge of related export regulatory bodies in Cameroon
- Good analytical and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage priorities and work under pressure.
